Why choose us?

St‌ ‌Anthony‌ ‌of‌ ‌Padua‌ ‌Catholic‌ ‌College‌ ‌Austral,‌ situated‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌heart‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ Aerotropolis,‌ ‌is preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s world. ‌

As a ‌centre‌ ‌of‌ ‌excellence‌, ‌we partner with families to provide‌ ‌a continuity‌ ‌of‌ ‌co-education‌ ‌from‌ ‌preschool‌ ‌to‌ ‌Year‌ ‌12.‌ ‌‌Offering a challenging curriculum, our learning specialists support every child within a flexible and innovative learning environment.

Our state of the art specialised learning areas include spaces for engineering, creative arts, food technology, visual‌ arts and multi-recreational sporting facilities. At the heart of our college will stand the church, as a reminder of our dedication to faith. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and by St Anthony’s core values of Aspire, Achieve and Act, our students become ‘learners for life’.

Here at St Anthony’s, we look towards the horizon as we continue to raise the bar. We provide opportunities such as Post-School Pathways for our students to make a difference in their world, knowing the possibilities for their future are limitless.

Principal’s Message

As principal of St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral, I’m delighted to welcome our first Year 7 cohort to our world-class Catholic college within the beating heart of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

When completed by 2026, our co-educational college will have students in preschool to Year 12 (P–12) who will be harnessing the benefits of studying in Western Sydney’s economic powerhouse. Existing and future students will have a rare opportunity to be on the cusp of Western Sydney Aerotropolis’ high-skills job hub, creating stimulating pathways to aerospace, defence, manufacturing, healthcare, freight/logistics, agribusiness, education and research careers.

Being a P–12 school, St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral will provide opportunities for students to be known, valued and challenged for the 13 years of their formal education and beyond. We aim to develop confident, independent young adults who are proud of their faith and individuality, and who will become global citizens with the skills and desire to make the world a better place.

Our college will be the centrepiece of an innovative and inclusive Catholic community which will engage users of all ages and backgrounds, allowing them to flourish through learning, pastoral care and service provision.

Our college already offers the best in design and technology with its richly resourced learning environments. Our specialist educators offer staged learning based on year groups studying and growing together in learning hubs, which are configured to enhance student engagement and interaction.

The college is situated in close proximity to future university campuses, the South-West Rail Link and M5, on a beautiful, spacious property where our students have the space and freedom to play, explore, socialise and participate in sporting activities.

We will have science, engineering, food technology, music, performing arts and specialist learning areas for all our students and a Wellness Centre designed to keep our community healthy physically and mentally.

There is a strong feeling of pride among our staff and foundation families at being able to participate in building the school from the ground up and contributing towards the creation of the culture and traditions of St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral.

The words of Saint Anthony – ‘Let your words speak, and your actions teach’ – clearly demonstrate the qualities we wish to instil in the young adults who will leave our college. It is my hope that in working in partnership with our families and community, our students will develop a strong faith which will give them the confidence to value their voice, think differently and become learners for life.

History
St Anthony’s parish officially opened in 1965. With Father Joe Weaver as parish priest, local families began connecting to create a strong Catholic faith community.

Today, Father Kene Onwukwe is the current parish priest and is excited to be a part of a distinctive 21st-century college that fosters dynamic and future-focused learning, guided by the teachings of the Gospel, into producing global citizens with a desire to make the world a better place.

St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral opened in 2017 with the first enrolments of 42 children in Kindergarten. Since then, there have been further enrolments with a goal to cater to students from preschool through to Year 12.

Charism
Our college and parish draw their inspiration and charism from our patron St Anthony of Padua, whose life revolves around educating others about the Scriptures and using God’s word to effect change, with a particular dedication to the poor and marginalised.

Here at St Anthony’s we are inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Saint Anthony of Padua’s principles of service, and hospitality and welcome to embrace his message: ‘Let your words teach and your actions speak.’

Vision
Our vision is to establish an innovative, inclusive, and educative Catholic community for all students from preschool through to Year 12.

At St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral, we continually look towards the horizon for the next exciting possibility, raising the bar by striving for excellence in education.

Mission
Informed by the teachings of the Gospel, students at St Anthony of Padua are faith-filled learners for life. We value student voice in enabling our learners to think differently and to connect both locally and globally. We are committed to developing strong, lasting links with our families and our parish community, as well as the greater community.

Motto
With Christ, we Aspire
With Christ we Achieve
With Christ we Act

We challenge each person to have high expectations of themselves, to persevere in order to experience success and by using Christ as a model, to make a difference in our world.

Our Parish
St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral is an integral part of the parish community, where we warmly welcome and encourage our students and families to become active members. The liturgical, sacramental, and prayer life of the school is strongly supported by our parish priest.
