Why choose St Anthony’s

St‌ ‌Anthony‌ ‌of‌ ‌Padua‌ ‌Catholic‌ ‌College‌ ‌Austral,‌ situated‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌heart‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ Aerotropolis,‌ ‌is preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s world. ‌

As a ‌centre‌ ‌of‌ ‌excellence‌, ‌we partner with families to provide‌ ‌a continuity‌ ‌of‌ ‌co-education‌ ‌from‌ ‌preschool‌ ‌to‌ ‌Year‌ ‌12.‌ ‌‌Offering a challenging curriculum, our learning specialists support every child within a flexible and innovative learning environment.

Our state of the art specialised learning areas include spaces for engineering, creative arts, food technology, visual‌ arts and multi-recreational sporting facilities. At the heart of our college, will stand the church, as a reminder of our dedication to faith. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and by St Anthony’s core values of Aspire, Achieve and Act, our students become ‘learners for life’.

Here at St Anthony’s, we look towards the horizon as we continue to raise the bar. We provide opportunities such as Post – School Pathways for our students to make a difference in their world, knowing the possibilities for their future are limitless.

Principal’s Message

As principal of St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral, I am delighted and honoured to welcome you to our website. We are an exciting new school which will grow to offer co-educational enrolments from pre-school to Year 12. Being a P–12 school, St Anthony of Padua Catholic College will provide opportunities for students to be known, valued and challenged for the full 13 years of their education. We will take advantage of specialist facilities and specialist teachers for all students K–12.  Students will develop strong working relationships with friends and staff members and siblings will be together at the same school regardless of their age.

Here, you will find that our vision for education is very clear in our commitment to enable all students to become ‘learners for life’. At St Anthony’s, this means a focus on delivering a rigorous curriculum and personalised learning to challenge and meet the needs and interests of each student.

I believe that the changing and unpredictable nature of the world in which we live, demands that today’s young people need to leave school with the ability to think critically and work cooperatively while being flexible and creative problem-solvers. We aim to build a school where our students grow – in their faith and as confident, courageous and collaborative learners.

This kind of education is not only focused on students gaining knowledge and skills, but more on using these to make a positive impact in our world. St Anthony of Padua’s words – ‘Let your words speak, and your actions teach’ – clearly demonstrate the qualities we wish to instil in the young adults who will leave our school.

Since taking our first enrolments in 2017, we have continued to dream and create a positive, faith-filled learning culture together. With construction well underway, St Anthony’s is set to become a comprehensive K–12 college by 2026.

I invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we continue to establish this unique Catholic learning community here at St Anthony’s.

St Anthony’s parish officially opened in 1965. With Father Joe Weaver as parish priest, local families began connecting to create a strong Catholic faith community.

Today, Father Robert (Bob) Hayes is the current parish priest, and is excited to be a part of a distinctive 21st century college that fosters dynamic and future-focused learning, guided by the teachings of the Gospel, into producing global citizens with a desire to make the world a better place.

St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral opened in 2017 with first enrollments of 42 children in Kindergarten. Since then, there have been further enrollments with a goal to cater for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

Our college and parish draws its inspiration and charism from our patron St Anthony of Padua, whose life revolved around educating others of the Scriptures and using God’s word to effect change, with a particular dedication to the poor and marginalised.

Here at St Anthony’s we are inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Saint Anthony of Padua’s principles of service, hospitality and welcome to embrace his message: ‘Let your words teach and your actions speak.’

Our vision is to establish an innovative, inclusive and educative Catholic community for all students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

At St Anthony of Padua Catholic College Austral we continually look towards the horizon for the next exciting possibility, raising the bar by striving for excellence in education.

Informed by the teachings of the Gospel, students at St Anthony of Padua are faith-filled learners for life. We value student voice in enabling our learners to think differently and to connect both locally and globally. We are committed to developing strong, lasting links with our families and our parish community, as well as the greater community.
